Dr. Tarek Bin Yameen

Dr. Tarek Bin Yameen is a comprehensive ophthalmologist serving the Tri-City region. He completed his medical school at the University of Toronto where he graduated with the Wilkinson Scholarship in Ophthalmology, which is awarded to a medical student for outstanding achievement in Ophthalmology. Thereafter, he completed his surgical residency training at McMaster University where he served as a Chief Resident and was involved in medical student education. He was awarded an Academic Achievement Award for high academic standing in the program, and a Resident Appreciation Award for his work in medical education. Prior to medical school, he completed a Master of Biotechnology at the University of Toronto and worked in the pharmaceutical industry in sales and marketing roles.

Dr. Bin Yameen is involved in the treatment of a broad range of ophthalmic conditions. His areas of clinical interest include medical glaucoma, medical retina, cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange, uveitis, and neuro-ophthalmology. He performs procedures such as anti-VEGF injections for retinal diseases and laser therapy for glaucomatous and retinal diseases. As well, he performs cataract surgeries and offers premium lens options and femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery for appropriate candidates.

Dr. Bin Yameen continues to be involved in medical education and enjoys training medical students and resident physicians at McMaster University through didactic and clinical teaching. With a patient-centric focus, he is committed to providing excellent care to patients in the Tri-City region.
